The PS Jailbreak USB Modchip is the easiest solution for jailbreaking your Sony Playstation 3 (FAT or SLIM model).  If you can't understand the cell phone ps3 jailbreaking methods (iphone, android, palm etc) then this is the solution you're looking for to consolidate all of your game disc onto the PS3's built in hard drive!  All you need to do to install this modchip is plug it into the Playstation 3's USB port!  Can't get any easier than that.  :)

Using the PS Jailbreak will allow you to install all of your existing games onto the PS3 build in hard drive and you will no longer need to use the game disc to play the game.  This nifty USB gadget will also allow homebrew application and games to run on the PS3.   The PS3

comes with 120gb, 160gb and 320gb hard drives, but if that's not enough, you can also use an external hard drive as big as your heart desires!  Some of the known working external hard drives are:

• Toshiba 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive

PS Jailbreak USB Modchip requirements:

• Playstation 3 running firmware 3.41
  To get the PS Jailbreak USB modchip working, your Playstation 3 MUST be running firmware 3.41 - other firmware version will not work (yet).   
• PS Jailbreak USB Modchip (we bought ours from this store)
• Any USB memory stick.  You can also use an external hard drive - just make sure the USB stick or hard drive you're using is formatting as FAT32.

Boot up process with PS Jailbreak USB Modchip:

1. Turn your Playstation 3 OFF.  
   If you're using the Playstation 3 FAT you must turn the switch located on the back of the console OFF
   For Playstation 3 SLIM model you'll need to disconnect the power cable.
2. Plug the PS Jailbreak USB into any one of the PS3's USB ports.
3. Turn your PS3 back on (switch on back for FAT model and reconnect power cable for SLIM model).
4. Press the POWER button and immediately press the EJECT button.  This will trigger the PS Jailbreak USB modchip.  You will see one of the following things:
   
   If you pressed the EJECT button fast enough, then you should see a green light only on the PS Jailbreak USB. 
   
   
   
   If you didn't press the EJECT button fast enough after pressing the POWER button, then you will see a red light on the PS Jailbreak USB like this:
   
   
   
   If you see the red light.. all you'll need to do is power off the Playstation 3 and repeat the process.  Press POWER and the immediately press EJECT.. wait for green light.  
   
    
5. Now that you have the the light on the PS Jailbreak USB modstick, connect the external USB storage device with a copy of the Backup Manager.
6. Select the GAME menu and scroll until you see "Install Package Files"
